The course will be led by Rajiv Chanchani with input from Swati Chanchani and Dr Vani Singh.
Rajiv and Swati Chanchani are long-time students of B.K.S. Iyengar, and founders of the Yog-Ganga Centre in northern India. Steeped in the rich culture that accompanies yoga techniques, Rajiv and Swati share their deep understanding of both the physical postures and the history and ethical implications of the practice of yoga. Their teaching is authoritative and appealing, enjoyable and rigorous. Characteristically, their classes explore yoga in mythology, legend, and history, and reference stories to bring out the quality of, and inspiration for, postures. By paying particular attention to geometrical forms and precision in postures students begin to understand philosophical concepts by visceral embodiment. Their teaching integrates asana and pranayama practice with the adoption of other components of the eight fold path of ashtanga yoga and its sister science, Ayurveda.
Dr Vani Singh is an Ayurvedic physician residing in Dehradun, India. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda in 2014 from the Garhwal University. Thereafter, she trained under Dr. PLT Girija at Sanjeevani Ayurveda and Yoga Centre in Chennai for two years. Dr. Girija is one of the leading Ayurvedic physicians in the country and is known for her commitment to preserving and propagating classical Ayurvedic practices.
Vani has been running a clinic in Dehradun for the past 4 years. She is also a student of Yoga and has been studying under the guidance of Smt. Swati and Shri Rajiv Chanchani since childhood.
